The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a qualifying medical entrance exam for those aspiring students who desire to study any graduation courses like MBBS, BDS, as well as for post graduation courses such as MD and MS. Students of Class 12 are eligible to appear for the NEET exam. Upon clearing the examination, the student will be able to get admission to almost all top medical institutions in India.

The examination is conducted by a national body, the National Testing Agency (NTA), from 2019 by the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Education. The body is pursued and directed by the Honourable Supreme Court of India. 

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 for UG was conducted by NTA  for 1872343 candidates at 3570 different centres located in 497 cities throughout the country, including 14 Cities outside India, on 17 July 2022 (Sunday), from 02:00 P.M. to 05:20 P.M. 

Announcement of Results 

The results of NEET UG 2022 are used for admissions in all sorts of medical colleges, be it private or government. The results are calculated on the basis of cut-offs that are released by the NTA for different categories of students. Check your scores by comparing your answers with the NEET 2022 answer key. NTA evaluates the OMR response sheets of candidates using the standard process, after which the results are formally declared. 

The results are released on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. Students can then download their respective scorecards. NTA declared NEET-UG 2022 results on 7 September 2022. The officials then prepare the All India Rank (AIR)/Merit list in accordance with the qualifying criteria. Those candidates appearing at NEET 2022 must regularly visit the official website for the latest updates and other processes.

What Is the NEET Cut Off?

NEET cut off score refers to the minimum marks that a candidate requires to qualify for the NEET exam. The NEET cut off is generally of two types: admission cut off, and qualifying cut off. NEET admission cut off is the last rank at which admission will be granted to a candidate, whereas NEET qualifying is the minimum mark that a candidate must score to pass the exam. 

As per the previous year’s analysis, the passing marks mentioned in NEET cut off were 720-138 for the general category and 137-108 for SC/ST/OBC category. On the other hand, the percentile for the general category was 50th, and for SC/ST/OBC category, it was 40th. All the medical entrance exams have been replaced by NEET, so medical colleges accepting NEET marks will be granting admission on the basis of the NEET 2022 cut off.
